I guess I've taken a lot of new pictures, but I haven't uploaded any in a long while. I probably should; I just haven't had time. I may add one or two more tonight. I just get so busy.

A note: I won first place in the photography section of my school Fine Arts Week with the piece "Art on the Keyboard."

I'm not sure if I'm excited or not. I definitely feel like I didn't deserve it. One way or another, I can definitely find many good uses for the prize money, which is a good thing. And it means that at least I'm not just putting out my art only to watch it fall into a meaningless void.

My friend who made me enter my photography in the contest probably has no idea exactly how hard it was for me to do so. I told him my work wasn't good enough; it wasn't high enough quality. He told me "the only thing that makes it 'not good enough' is that you don't take it seriously yet." Maybe he was right.

When I went to do all the paperwork involved in getting prize money, my friend was grinning triumphantly and saying "told you" every few minutes. He looked so happy I couldn't be upset. I could just laugh, and say "yeah, you did."
